What is Dwyer Instruments Tilt Switch?
Dwyer Instruments Tilt Switch is a device used for measuring the tilt of an object in multiple axes with reference to an absolute level plane. They are small and compact instruments which make them a viable option for many applications where orientation or inclination detection is a key factor, such as warning systems on construction or agricultural vehicles. Alongside our vast range of inclinometers and inclinometer sensors, our tilt-switches at Level Developments also use highly accurate sensors to operate, gaining an advantage over alternatives such as mercury switches or rolling ball mechanisms.
Tilt sensors work by detecting changes in angle from a pre-set “zero” state. They are set with a maximum and minimum threshold in which the application will work or be safe to operate based on the specific application’s needs. If the tilt or inclination exceeds these threshold values in either direction, a relay will be engaged and the switch closed, thus sending an operation to an external device such as an alarm or warning light to indicate unsafe or non-working conditions.

The Model LTC2 Tilt Switch Control Unit offers a complete level control solution when used with a tilt switch probe such as the Series LTS. It offers a DPDT switch output as well as indicator lights to provide visual and output control of the level probe status.
• Adjustable time delay feature may be assigned to either the vertical or the tilt position to prevent false signals
• Logic selector switch determines when the output relay actuates and deactuates, thus while in position one, the relay is energized when the probe is in the vertical position and de-energizes when the probe is in the titled position, and while in position two, the actions are opposite
• Relay assumes the de-energized position upon reaching the end of the delay period as well as upon failure of power to the controller
• Large hoppers
