Company Overview
ATMI is headquartered in Montigny‑le‑Bretonneux, France, and has been exclusively focused on mechanical level detection solutions since its founding. The company is unique in offering more than 20 types of float-level switches across over 50 configurations, tailored to applications in liquids, solids, and explosive atmospheres. ATMI products are manufactured in France and supported by over 350 international distributors.
Float Level Switches
ATMI’s float-based detectors are engineered to regulate liquid levels in pumping stations, industrial tanks, drinking water systems, and narrow-access reservoirs.
- SOBA Series: Omnidirectional models with adjustable ballast cables, hundreds of thousands of switching cycles, and IP68 protection. ATEX-certified options are available for explosive environments.
- AQUA XL / AQUA Medium: Internal-ballast versions designed for grease-laden wastewater and robust pump control applications, also certified for ACS when used with drinking water.
- TUBA 1″ and 1¼″: Compact float switches suited for narrow openings, common in small tanks and cisterns.
Tilt Level Switches for Bulk Solids
ATMI’s tilt-level switches are specifically designed for high-level detection in silos and conveyor systems handling grains, powders, pellets, stones, and other solids.
- SOLIBA Standard: Mechanical tilt switch that activates only when material reaches a pre-set high level. Ideal for non-hazardous silos.
- SOLIBA EX P / EX GP: ATEX-certified versions for use in explosive gas (zones 0–2) and dust (zones 20–22) atmospheres.
- SOLIBA E: Special model for exceptionally light powders, ensuring reliable high-level detection in sensitive bulk applications.
- SOLIBA Plus and SOLIBA PRA/PRP: Rotary vane and membrane indicators offer alternative methods of bulk level detection with enhanced dust resistance.
Key Features and Advantages
- All switches have IP68 rating and offer adjustable ballasts or internal ballast design for reliable operation across liquid densities from 0.70 to 1.50.
- The biconical, omnidirectional float design minimizes clogging and maintenance needs.
- Mechanical tilt switches only operate at the predetermined high level, offering energy-efficient and cost-effective monitoring.
- ATEX and ACS certifications ensure safe application in explosive atmospheres and drinking water systems.
- Adjustable switching angles from ±10° to ±165° provide flexibility across diverse process environments.
